Where did
one rupee gone?
Once upon a time there was a farmer named
Jogibaba. He has two sons. Jogibaba gave 30
oranges to each son for sale. Both the son set
out to the market to sell the oranges. The elder
son being in hurry made 10 packets each having
3 oranges & sold them for one rupee each while
the other son made 15 packets each having 2
oranges. He also sold them for a rupee. When all
the oranges were sold. The elder son had made
in all Rs 15 while the latter Rs 10 and hence
they gave a total of Rs 25 to Jogibaba.
Next day when they set out for the market, they
decided to do business together so they pooled
their 60 oranges & decided to sold them at 5
oranges for 2 rupee (2 a rupee and 3 a rupee).
So they made 12 packets each having 5 oranges.
And each packet was worth Rs 2. Within few
minutes they sold all
the packets and got
Rs 24 (12 x 2).
The day before they
were selling the
oranges at the same
rate & they collected
Rs 25 but now they
had only Rs 24 at all. They did all the
calculations but still don't know where did one
rupee gone? Only Jogibaba knows.
